"Work harder" was a belief I held onto for a long time. "If you work hard enough, and then some, you might be successful"

And I did. And yes, I loved my work and put my heart and soul into it. As my family grew, a tiny voice, would appear out of nowhere. Once in a while. "Is this really what you want to be doing whilst raising your own children" it whispered, tentatively. Oooh. I didn't like that voice. "What choice do I have? I'm doing well! What better is there out there?!" I would quickly quelch the voice and return to the myriad tasks of the day.​

 

Fast forward years later and I was still chug chug chugging along. And. I had a deep passion to use my unique strengths to make a real difference. Look, inside me I knew I had unique strengths that came naturally to me. But they were not being used. Well, of course they were. Sporadically. Sweet moments. What I wanted was to spend every day using my gifts to make a real difference, whilst being profitable. Was that too much of a dream? I wondered.​

 

At one point, the tiny voice emerged clear and strong, "Not using my strengths to the max is actually having an effect on me as a wife and mother."

 

Woah.

 

That was the turning point.

 

I finally exchanged "work harder" to "work smarter - the 80/20 way" I stopped chugging and pushing. I let myself. I enrolled at a coaching training, allowing myself to act on my dreams.

 

Precious tender moments. Certification. One client, then two. Still much ahead of me. How will this play out? So many unknowns. And yet. I experienced freedom. Risks yes. Afraid? Uh huh. And at the same time, energised and fulfilled. From that moment on.

 

Today, several years ahead, I teach and coach, and am so grateful to have integrated work and life so that it feels light, joyful and energising. Especially rewarding is my work with gifted and talented women, guiding and supporting them to find their ideal work situation and celebrating their wins and milestones, towards their true fulfilment and inner peace.

 

From varied continents, at different stages of work or setting up a private practice, I have worked with many women and witnessed their transformation; indeed wherever you live, and whichever stage in your career you are at, you are invited to make real shifts in your career, and uplevel your life.

 

That tiny voice was right all along.
